United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, case no.: 10-CV-0621
Filed: June 21, 2010

What is the lawsuit about?

Our office along with Lewis Galloway Law, L.L.C. (www.lglawllc.com) filed a collective action claim against Grantham University, Inc. (“Grantham”) in the U.S. Federal Court for the Western District of Missouri on June 21, 2010. This lawsuit was filed on behalf of all Admissions Representatives and other hourly employees for unpaid overtime under the federal wage and hour laws: the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and under Missouri’s wage and hour laws. The lawsuit alleges that Grantham required employees to perform work before shifts and at home without compensating them for this time. It also alleges that Grantham would enter the time keeping system and simply delete any overtime work that was reported by these employees.

At this time, this lawsuit is not a certified class action. It will only become a certified collective class action after the Court issues an order granting this status. We will be seeking such an order from the Court as this matter proceeds.
